How can I continue exercising with a shoulder injury?

Question:

"Hey FFP Team, I'm experiencing a shoulder injury...how can I continue exercising?"

Short Answer:

Firstly, anytime you are experiencing an injury, it's always safe/best to consult with your doctor. However, if opting to avoid physical therapy/surgery, you can continue exercising if avoiding any further aggravation to your shoulder joint.

Longer Answer:

The shoulder joint is one of the most used joints on our bodies but therefore can cause the most injuries. A big problem we often face is the impingement of tendons in our shoulder from years of poor posture and lack of mobility. Lifting your arms overhead or laterally can pinch this area so repetitive use mixed with poor posture can lead to injury. Unfortunately, this covers most pressing motions (where you are working your chest/shoulders). Try the following movements as work-arounds until your are nursed back to good health.

Otherwise, you can continue to find great results by closely monitoring your dietary intake. We firmly believe that your nutrition/hydration plays 80% of the role in your journey. Plus, if losing weight/fat is your primary goal, you can still get a fantastic workout by implementing HIIT training that is safe for your shoulders but can burn a ton of calories!
If looking for movements to help rehab your shoulder, specifically the rotator cuff, check out the following video with some great information. However, getting a true rehab plan from a trained professional should still be your number one priority.

Great question! We hope this helps :-)
