Can FFP Supplements be Taken After the Sell-By Date?

Question:

Can I safely consume your FFP Supplements after the sell-by date?

Short Answer:

Most supplements can actually be taken after their sell-by date. They don't usually "expire" as typical food does, rather they lose some potency over time. The exception is if there is a noticeable smell/taste in which case the supplement should not be consumed.

Longer Answer:

Super Fuel Protein Powder: Research suggests that protein powder has a shelf life of 9–19 months. Therefore SF is likely safe to consume even 6 months to 1 year after the sell-by date. Consuming protein shortly after is likely safe if there are no signs that it has gone bad, which include a rancid smell, bitter taste, changes in color, or clumping. If these signs are present, it’s best to toss your tub and purchase a new one.

Encapsulated Products: The encapsulated products are likely good for 1-2 years after the sell-by date. If this time period has passed, consider purchasing new ones here.
